Today, Typhoon Santi will be making its grand entrance to our lovely city. The day before, it was advised that its strength was that of a Signal No. 2 Typhoon, and all elementary and high school students had to be sent home. Unluckily for us, employed young professionals, as I had been for a few months now (Gawd, how I love how that sounds!), we were still required to come to in to the office. Although nothing tremendously freaky was daunting upon us since yesterday, “the sun was up, the skies were blue, and everything was nice, except you.” Wait, wait, wait, wait! Wrong line! Wahaha! But you get the picture. Yesterday, everything was better.

I’m sticking my nose in front of my laptop now, typing these blank lines as I wait for my laptop batteries fail me. Yes, a few minutes ago, the electricity went out. That was when I realized how very raging the winds are hitting against our dorm walls, banging with their strongest might on our window panes. I wonder why I didn’t notice this any sooner. Was I really that preoccupied with net surfing, facebook-ing, Farmville-ing, and whatnot-ing. Really, things like these are great distractions to everything that’s been going on around you. And I didn’t even realize that the rain hasn’t stopped since last night. But then again, I wouldn’t really know for sure since I was fast asleep somewhere between the time I hit the sack and the time I got out of bed. Genius!

But above all that, as the lights went out, I got stuck with a laptop; with draining batteries, and worse, with no internet! I get to think how contented and happy people must have been ages ago, before electricity was invented.

So I browsed through the blank pages of my mind (hey, it’s still 6am in the morning!) and ran through everything I possibly could think of to rid myself of this unpleasant boredom, when it struck me, real hard. I hadn’t been regularly blogging for the past days, or weeks even. I got me thinking why it took me this long to convince myself and inspire myself to blog. And I guess it was simply because I was too distracted to take some time off and hit the keyboard and type in a new entry. The umph-factor was now gone.

I don’t know how this will help me bring back the juicy drive to blog some more. And to think I’ve got so many materials to work with. I have a friend who writes songs but I didn’t know about until a few days ago, I’ve been going out with friends to this wickedly whacked show every other Thursday of the month, I’ve met a new blogger friend who was my ex-English blockmate way back in college, I’ve had some photo out-takes with my boardmates, which got us a set of awesome shots, and more, and more, and more; but I couldn’t pull anything substantial and genius from them in this state.

Alright, this officially counts as a rant blog now! So I will stop here. Hopefully, by the next time I post another entry, I’d be back in the game!
